steering column ideas......
I am at the point of my 1951 build where i need to decide on a steering column, I really want to keep it simple and keep the cost down so I can try to finish this thing someday soon. anybody make their own? pics would be great,thanks Greg

Simple would be the Column out of a 4 speed 70/72 if you are running a floor shift or the automatic column out of one if you want to run a column shift automatic. You would probably have to rework the steering shaft below the column a bit though in most cases as the shaft goes from the steering wheel down to a U joint a few inches below the end of the column.
The 80 something Chevy van columns that come on vans that had the ignition switch in the dash are popular because they are really clean and the tilt is one of the cleanest tilts around. |

I made my own using GM tilt parts super clean but not so simple.
