Question Best Dash Pad ? - (cost / Quailty)

Looking to replace my dash pad on my 86. The truck is dark blue, and I thought, that the interior upholstry color was medium blue, but all I can find is dark blue, is this correct? Who has the best pads, quailty and price?

I would recommend Chevy Duty (www.chevyduty.com), but pricy, $274.95 in OEM blue. I have seen less costly ones on Ebay for around $200, which I got. Expect a hefty shipping charge for oversized package though. I think OEM factory ones go for around $400-$500 or so.

I bought mine at my local Chevy dealer. It cost a little over $217.00, tax and everything, wholesale price. Dealer replacement pads are all primed gray, so you will need to dye it. This is not bad and this way you get the color you want.

Yeah, I'm starting to see that. I've bought a few things from them and it all fit good. No complaints from me......yet.

I have bought another pad for my truck so I will be selling this one in a couple weeks. Its dark blue and has been covered by a local trim shop . I really like the dash but I'm going back to the factory look on this truck so I wanted the grain other than that I wouldn't be pulling it out. If anyone is interrested pm me or email me . I do know shipping is pricey , I'm paying $40.00 from Boston
to Georgia.

Pbkinplano got a rubber dash for his truck that will work much better in this Texas heat. It won't fade or crack and I think it was $100. Might try PM'ing him and ask him about it.

Yea I have one of the rubber pads. Click on link below and you can see it. If I had to do it again I'd buy a oem one for 217.00
if you could find one at a local dealer. Mine is OK but I didn't do my homework. Damn sure won't crack and peel thats for sure.
Its the same color all the way through.

Gotta love Jason He got me my ZZ4 cheaper than anyone else before the price went up. If I was going to get some new heads or cam form GM that's who I'd order from.

The JC Whitney is a dash cap, that is glued over the original one, and that is why its only $99. Some say you can't tell the difference visually at a distance.

I have replacement pad from www.cheyennepickup.com $199.00 in black. You can primer and paint to match which is what I did.

Here nice fit and good quality. I would recommend them.

THANKS guysfor the info.

I guess you may be wondering, wheres the WOLFMAN? I quit my job of 14 years Friday. My boss decided that he would rather play golf than pay me a check!!! Things have been going down hill since Christmas there so I decided I had had enough! So, I have had to change my email address and regroup.
Thanks for all the info., I have checked at gmpartsdirect.com and they have a GM dash pad delivered for $222.00 / don't know the color, (black?) but it is supposed to be dyeable to match your truck. Has anyone dyed a dash pad before? If so can you post a pic? Where do you get the dye?
Again, sorry to have been away, you guys really help with the input!!

I've used the VHT vinyl dye from Summit. It works pretty good. I don't have any pics though.
