I think proper protocall is to give 68lowburb a chance at $40. I welcome input from moderators.
Thanks,
Ray

I can only see 3 BB brackets. Is the loop on the large bracket considered the 4th? Don't have that on my Burb so never have seen one.

Re: Big Block and Small Block AC Brackets

Mel is up on the BB brackets. We can settle up when the other parts are figured out.
Thanks Mel...I would love to make it up to your shop one day. Back in the 90s, I used to buy a gang of these trucks at the Portland auctions.
Thanks,
Ray

Yes, the loop is a bracket. One of 9 for a complete set.

Hey, thanks for the info. The A/C mounting does seem a little extreme from the factory - it's not going anywhere if you have all 9. Is that loop for routing heater hose? I'm always looking at BB motor pics to figure out what brackets mine is missing. Currently the Alternator support rod from top bracket to head is MIA.

It's your call Ray. You are not in violation of any board rules either way. First to post was 68lowburb, first to offer full price was ClassicBowties. If you wanted to wait and see if 68lowburb offered full price that is fine, or if you wanted to sell to CB since he was first to offer full price, that is fine also.

That is correct. All it does is keep the heater hose out of the way.

Thanks for the input Scott. I've seen other threads where the lower offer guy gets pissed when he loses out over a full offer after his.

Re: Big Block and Small Block AC Brackets

If Mel & Critterman pass, put me next. I only need the loop piece but since I've never seen one, I might see if I can recreate it for others who might want it too. Realize it won't be OEM but if I can make it look good, it will pass & make some people real happy to have that missing part. Pretty sure one of them will grab it though.

Thanks for all the info too.

I think the real answer to this is hinged on: A. who you the buyer are, B. who ya know or C. who the other potential buyer is as this is a gray/sorta wishy washy area of the parts board. On a handful of occasions over the years I have been on both sides of this making an offer/taking at full price dilemma before and have seen it come up many other times here, and yet always see different answers come up on the issue. This deal above was more than fairly priced @ $40. shipped, yet a guy (1st responder) wants to beat the price down a bit more while the next guy (2nd responder) knows its already a good deal and priced great as listed and commits on the purchase, it should be a done deal there and not drug out waiting for and taking up a mods time sorting it all out. I have seen it posted here many times that offers are not to be made in FS threads unless the op has asked for them or help on pricing, yet it goes on alot.

Re: Big Block and Small Block AC Brackets

Ray,

Glad Mel got them - good deal. Could you do me a favor & remove that loop to lay it down & draw around it on paper like a side shot image. Then stand it on the holes & draw around the feet & holes. If you'd be willing to do that & mail me the drawings, maybe I could copy it for myself. LMK if you got time.

Hey Tom that would be awesome. Do you happen to have the Alternator Support Rod that goes on the back of the top bracket to the head? I could use a measurement from hole-to-hole on that one to recreate too if you do. I'll shoot you a PM with my address. Thanks a bunch
