95 RCSB to LQ4/4L60e Swap (56k Heavy)

This 95 is a project that I'm working on for a member from another board that I'm on. It started life as a 350TBI/4L60e and I'm swapping in an LQ4/4L60e. Trans will be updated with the Gen III/IV style 4L60. Using a Nelson Performance Harness, Transdapt Adapter Plates, and everything else needed for a Smog Legal Setup. I'll go into detail with the swap and take pics along the way.

Getting ready to pull the engine

Got a little help from a friend

Me removing the last little connections

All Gone...

Re: 95 RCSB to LQ4/4L60e Swap (56k Heavy)

Made a little progress, haven't had the chance to post up yet, but here ya go... I removed the old wiring harness for now until I figure out what needs to be removed and what needs to stay. I also pulled the engine back out to change the oil pan gasket and bolt on the pickup tube and windage tray. Also had to modify the TransDapt Adapter bolts so that they would tighten all the way and not hit the block itself. After that it was time to drop the engine back in and figure out this wiring mess...

Pulled the pan off, took a quick look at the bottom end... looks pretty good

A bunch of sludge in the pan, some leaves, and a Styrofoam packing peanut...

All cleaned up (After a bunch of degreaser and brake clean)

Bolted up the windage tray and installed the oil pan

Transdapt Bolts before I cut them...

After the bolts were cut

New and old Wiring Harnesses

Wiring MESS...

Getting it in order...

A little better.... Still a ways to go...

Anyone know what this plug goes to??

Where did you guys splice in these connections??

Re: 95 RCSB to LQ4/4L60e Swap (56k Heavy)

Wiring... :bang::bang::bang:

Blah...

Old Wires...

Installed the S&P Oil Pressure Sending Unit Adapter, OEM Adapter, and Sending Unit. I forgot to get a pic of the sending unit before I bolted the intake down, but you get the idea.

Power Steering Hose

Heater Hoses Routed...

The owner wants to use the stock Battery Box and just use a cold air intake, so I'm using the OEM Battery Cables. Here is the Cable routed under the TB to the Alternator

S&P Water Temp Sensor Adapter

Mounted the Electric Fans on the Radiator, Using a Nelson Performance Fan Wiring Kit to wire up the fans, pretty straight forward install

Mounted the OBDII Connector under the dash

Still have to finish up the fuel pump, drill the trans crossmember, Connect the Trans Lines, Y-Pipe, and The Solder the Stock Harness into the Nelson Harness.
