Has anyone driven both a 2.5/4 and a 4/6 drop?

I ask because I keep seeing more and more 4/6 drops done these days...I'm getting tempted to add to the list of things to do to my truck long-term (along with a 5-lug conversion and some 18s) by tossing on some 1" or 1.5" drop springs (probably 1" because I'd like to lessen the rake I have now) and 1.5" drop shackles for the rear

As it is, (2.5" spindles, 4" drop leaves) I really don't have any problems anywhere...thing is, I would probably have to C-notch the frame as well.

Would going down another 1-1.5" in the front and 1.5" in the rear (assuming I C-notch it, since 5.5" of drop is quite a bit) reduce the drivability much/at all?

Mmm...I need money...new rotors, new rear axles and drums, front springs, rear shackles, 18" rims, and 18" tires...nooooot cheap.

I believe I have a 4/6" drop. Spindles in the front with coils and just coils in the back. Hope to get some blocks as soon as i convert the rear axles to 5 lug.

I personally think new dropped springs ride a hella better than 30 year old stock ones. BTW, I am sure the new gas shocks, ball joints, tie rod ends, and everything greased really well helps too!

Upgrades--small block, tilt column, disc 5 lug conversion (front and rear),

Future Projects--suburban gas tank under the bed, rear roll pan, better gas mileage (currently about 6-10 MPG)

My 71 long bed (wich my eldest son now has) we put 2.5" spindles on front with 225x70's & rear has 4" drop coils with 285x70's the rake is about even. Rides very good, and can hual as much as you want, with a shot of air in the rear air bags (helpers). just finished my other sons 68 short bed with a 4-6 drop (spindles & 1.5" springs & 255x60's/ rear has 6" drop coils &275x60's) and it rides very good also, but a bit more bouncy, and can not haul anything (I don't think) untill we get some air bags on it. My opinion is the 3-4 drop is still a usefull truck, the 4-6 drop should be considered a (carefull through the dips) street rod only.
