Your Ideal 67-72 Truck
My other thread about the trucks members here would not consider buying got me thinking about the other side of the coin a bit. What would be your IDEAL 67-72 truck. I would like to say as they came from the factory but that is not everyone's thing so if you have some crazy mods or builds you like then have at it. I like factory (or close to) trucks.
Mine would be this. 1968 SWB Fleetside 1/2 ton SM465 transmission 327 engine 3.73 rear Maybe some other stuff like HD suspension and cooling. |

Re: Your Ideal 67-72 Truck
Oh, it would involve taking my 71 swb C-10 Custom and merging it with a a ZR1 - the ZR-10.
638 hp, ceramic brakes, independent suspension, traction control, aluminum frame. Yeah, I would roll that. Posted via Mobile Device

When I get it done, the one I'm building. Except maybe a 572bb instead of the 502bb that is in it.

Re: Your Ideal 67-72 Truck
The '67 GMC in my garage, except without the rusted out floor, a T56 instead of the busted up SM420, a new LS9 instead of the tired a$$ 283, a set of 20/22 inch Boze rims ridin' on PB components and bags! There's a bunch of other little things too, but their pretty standard goodies.

Re: Your Ideal 67-72 Truck
Mine is a 72 long or short 4x2 with a 68 front clip, wood floor box, factory A/C factory buckets , with an LS motor and 4L80E trans with 3:42 gears with posi sitting on one of those Hotchkiss $5000 suspension packages. I'd have to think about color , but black is strong contender.

Re: Your Ideal 67-72 Truck
Great question, I REALLY want a short bed this time but, with as many people coming to visit us now that we live in Arizona I may need a Burb to pick everyone up at the airport and haul around. Think Delmo would want to build a Burb?

Re: Your Ideal 67-72 Truck
My "Ideal 67-72 truck"? The one I've been lucky enough to own for 8 years now: 1968 SWB, 350/350 auto, PS, PB, radio delete and.........well, it's perfect for me. I'm slowly but surely creating what I've always wanted and it's getting there.
