glove box emblem question - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

ok ordered a new glove box "chevrolet" emblem for my 68 c10..and i'm wondering how it is suppose to attach?
It has three studs on the back side of emblem which go into the three holes on glovebox front..but no nuts to hold it on...and on further inspection the studs go into front but cannot be accessed from other side....does it come apart so i can attach the studs somehow or do i use adhesive?
just wondering the correct way...by the way the emblem was 25..and its cheap plastic..so if anyone has an orig i'd be interested..thx

There is a little clip (I know what they're called, but for the life of me the name is excaping me right now) that you push into the holes then push the emblem studs into the clips.

Swing by a body shop. They will have what you need. Otherwise, check LMC.

Silicone glue works and it's a lot easier than messing with attaching hardware. Just break off the studs and sand the back of the emblem flat first.

I believe they are called barrel nuts, check with a body shop. When i put the new one on my 68 i used double sided moulding adhesive tape. but i did leave the studs on the back of the emblem so i could install it in the correct location. It worked out ok for me. Joseph

NAPA carries the barrel nuts also.

you guys are great..gona try to find barrel nuts..but wont i have to be able to get to the back side...there is like a cavity between front of glovebox and back and no way to get to stud to put on nut...

the barrell clips push in from the front, you do not need to access the back as they do not screw into the studs.

Yeah,these aren't nuts at all. Just press fit,which makes removal the harder part. If you don't find these,silicone or weatherstip adhesive (my favorite) will work and there's no need to remove the studs.
