Re: My New Truck Loading

I hope its as good as it looks. Looked at pics, sent the money then sent the truck 1100 miles to pick it up. I've done this a few times and have never been burnt.

Beautiful truck..I've had many trucks but I am down to just my ochre 72. I've owned for about 10 years now. The ocher color has grown on me,,it is now my favorite color on our year of truck.

I really like the Medium Gold Poly. Congratulations!!! Too bad that Suburban wasn't what it appeared to be. I'm glad you found something.

Re: My New Truck Loading

I've seen that truck sooo many times in the area and loved it! Saw it on CL and the price was good for a truck in that condition that it is in.

Congrats and glad the truck went to a board member!!

I think its cool that you can find a nice truck far away and have somebody go get it and bring it home for you. Congrats & looking forward to the closeups.

It's a pretty fineline between colors in pictures and computers can lie. I can see how someone could mistake that for Ochre with that overcast sky. I had a Medium God Poly '70 and loved that color. It's on my list of choices for when I redo my '72...along with Ochre.

I used a local carrier that does a lot of RV hauling ( we have a motorhome manufacturer here in Saskatoon ) to the USA and is always looking for back hauls to come home with. If it would have been any other months other than December, January, February I would have flown to Seattle and drove her home, as I love road trips and driving that truck home would be a hoot, but crossing the Mountains in the Winter can be unpredictable and dangerous. When I pencil it all out its probably only costing me 300.00 more to have the truck shipped as opposed to going to get it, but I know it should get here in one piece and I'm safe. I'll post lots of pics when I get it this coming week.

Great score Greg!! I have family (In-laws) in Regina and although they aren't into classic vehicles (yet) they have bought vehicles out of the U.S.
Does your shipper 'ding' you much at the border for the paperwork?
I always like meeting the shipper 'stateside' at the border and bringing it over myself....but I'm pretty close to the crossing points so its a lot easier.
Nice looking truck!!

Actually the shipper brings it "In Bond" which means its brought here to Saskatoon to a bonded warehouse then I deal with the local CBA Office for clearance and don't have to use a broker. If Brokers charged 50..00 or so for their paperwork I'd use them but feel 200.00/300.00 they charge is way to much money for something I can do myself. Until I found this local guy I used to get vehicles shipped to Minot, Nort Dakota ( 400 miles from here ) and bring them over myself because the USA carriers wanted megabucks to bring it right to here.
