I tend to do most of the jerry rigging. however when you have to do it right or it fails it does gets in the way.

My engine blew this summer so I took it as a opportunity to do a frame up resto. Its disgusting how much the previous owner cut corners. I swear it was assembled in a old barn with a bucket of mixed nuts and bolts. It drives me crazy. The wiring is trashed on top of that. =\

Yes it does annoy me. Whenever I buy an old car, I only get original cars that haven't been tampered with...bonus points for no aftermarket stereo installs. I'd rather replace factory parts that were worn out 10 years ago, than some rigged up, tin foil, bailing wire, duct tape hack job repair.

I def feel you on that. Im saving up for a completely new wiring harness. Tired of fighting it. Ive replaced everything else, might as well keep it from going up in flames randomly ha.

Re: fixing someone elses Jimmy rig handy work.

I hate it when people do that! I just picked up an 85 shortwide that has a 91 burb front end. I liked it and the metal looked fine, which it was, so I bought it cheap. But the PO was a major Tweeker and tore into EVERY SINGLE THING at one time or another. The wiring was the worst! The rear brakes were missing! almost nothing worked!, But it does run great, believe it or not. I'm well on my way to correcting everything. I love projects, but hate people sometimes! lol
