Hydraulic clutch setup?

Were there any later squares that had a hydraulic clutch? I have been thinking about swapping the trans out in my truck, but would like to run a hydraulic setup. If not, what would be needed to make it work and look relatively factory?

The very last of the square body 1/2 ton pickups with manuals had a hydraulic clutch. I have a bellhousing from one of those in my '78 straight six with a T5 swapped in...I wanted a hydraulic clutch too. I think it's from an '87. I used an '87 slave cylinder, and I think i used a master from an '88 and rigged it up to work with the clutch pedal already on my truck (it was a three speed originally).

Ok, cool. I am thinking of swapping in a T56, and already have the bell, slave cylinder, etc. I guess I just really need the pedals. How hard are those to find?

They pop up every now and then. Im doing a 4 speed swap. I bought a set of clutch pedals of a guy on this site last week. Keep a eye out here, ebay, or check some local junkyards. About $60 is what I paid plus shipping.

What parts are you wanting to see? My pedals havent came yet and I have the 4 speed torn down for a rebuild. I have a t56 but it was going to cost 500 just for a SBC to t56 bellhousing so financially it was cheaper for me to just do a direct swap trans. On top of that it needs a shifter conversion, new driveshaft ect to fit the t56.

mainly the pedals, and where the clutch master mounts. I'm in no hurry, this project is likely a little while off while I collect parts.

the clutch master mounts to two arms that are attached to the pedal set and have threaded studs on them to bolt the master to the firewall, they just go into holes in the firewall. if your cab is 84? 85 or newer you will see three dimples ( center punches) arranged in a straight diagonal line in the firewall to the right and lower of the brake booster. two holes for the studs one for the master rod. if you have anyother questions jon pm me, i am just about done with my swap and can hopefull give you some insight and some part numbers, its a lot more involves than i initially thought but by no means the hardest thing ive done. biggest headache has been parts adapting and finessing all the odds and ends to make it all work together, step one, look for an lt1 style t56 providing youre using a pre 86 motor its easily the best route.
