Leaking pwr steering box

Hi has anybody done just the bottom seal on a 69 C10 pwr steering box , how involved ?? or best way to go about it ??

All I did with mine is put some Lucas power steering treatment in it... No more leaks...

Thanks LockDoc been there done that !! I really think I gonna have to put a new bottom seal in it ....

thanks Sharpmark , I read the article but I don't want to have to pull the steering box down ... unless that's the only way ....

Ray,It may be possible to replace the seals on the bottom[sector shaft]while its in the truck but it would be difficult.You are going to have to get the front of the truck raised pretty high because you have to pry the old seals out and hammer the new ones in.Also you will have to remove the sector shaft out of the box in order to access the seals.I just got done rebuilding my entire box and I think it would be easier to just remove it.Just center the steering box,loosen the 4 bolts and it should slide out.You will also have to replace the top seal on the sector shaft cover.Heres a video that help me do it. http://www.mypowerblock.com/video/mu...steering-box-1

My PS box is leaking on my 87. I bought a rebuilt box, and took it to a shop. They will install it far $110.00.

Thanks for all the advice .. I bit the bullet ,1 hour and a $3 seal all done , I pulled the Steering box and did it on the bench , pried the bottom seal out punched the new one in jobs done know onto the next leak
