High temp engine paint:

I just painted my 250 with Duplicolor "Performance Red". My problem is the color on the motor is no where near the the color on the cap. It is way to brown for my needs. My final color on the truck will be Red and White following a Santa Clause Theme so if anyone has any suggestions for a
"Santa Clause RED" not shaded orange or brown please chime in. Thanks.

Re: High temp engine paint:

Talk to your paint rep. Here my guy had a single stage he said would hold up on an engine he could mix up the same color as my exterior paint.

Re: High temp engine paint:

I've got about 1000 miles on my VW's engine block that I sprayed with PPG DP40, then single stage urethane and it's holding up great. Being aircooled, the blocks are made to shed heat more than a watercooled engine so you're sure to have good results with a watercooled engine. I'll be trying DP40 and single stage enamel on my 250 when I get that far with it.

Re: High temp engine paint:

Thanks for the info. Now I need to find someone near Dayton Tn. that has paint knowledge. What I used to paint the motor was a rattle can.
