Thats what I figured too; just never seen it discussed on here. Also wondered if I could cut the ends off and use them to fix my 'burb.

Re: Roof lip patch panel

I drilled the spot wells and peeled my old one off. Bought the new panel and it fits good it's just a little short on each end ( about 1/2 inch).I'm not welding it on till the body comes of and is on my dolly.I'll take pics of course.

I looked at your thread last nite, Nobby. You've done a lot of work and it looks good. Is your truck a 64-66??? I dont remember.

Re: Roof lip patch panel

I had 2 ends for sale on the parts board for a while... no- one ever asked for 'em. they were a 65 truck, that I had cut 1 inch out of the center of the roof for my chopped truck....I am 95% sure that I still have them...

Re: Roof lip patch panel

Thanx LostMy; I'd seen the pics but not the install of the part. I wasnt sure if it was in on the full truck shot at the bottom. I'm mostly curious to learn if the part is relavent to 60-66, not just 60-63 as Classic Ind has it listed.

Cool!! I rarely look at the parts section 'cuz it seems I never find anything I need. PM me about the details; I'm considering making the pieces but this would save time. Thanx jonz!!!

Yep thats the same pc. I had it clamped on for a while and remove it to rust kill inside. If you can wait till the weekend I'll take some pics of the fit.

Thanx Nobby. I would love to see it as a bunch of others would too; I bet. Common area for problems on these trucks as we all know.

With that piece off you can really get some stuff squirted in there well!! I saw your doorskin project.

No problem LostMy; I appreciate the help trying to sort this out. Hopefully it's good info for others trying to fix or patch this area of their truck.
