68 Stepside
Hey guys. I'm just asking here what you think my truck is worth. I'm getting a bit discouraged with it. I may consider selling it if I feel I can get enough for it.
68 stepside, paint, interior and resto job in whole is about 4 yrs old, 3.5/5 drop, 350/TH350/3.07 posi. As of right now, the engine is shot. Before I put it on the market, though, I will replace the engine with a new 350 crate engine. The only thing the truck needs to be "completed" (they never are) is a heat/AC system.

Re: 68 Stepside
It's worth fixing and keeping. Sorry, probably not what you want to hear. Is there more to this? I know my decisions to sell things are other than a dislike for what I've sod and have yet to sell.

Re: 68 Stepside
Oddly enough, I'm bored with the truck. It was fun while there was plenty to "fix". Now it's like the only things to fix or upgrade are very expensive. I also have a wife and two sons. With seat belt and child restraint laws, I can't legally ride around my whole family in it anymore. If I sell it, it would replace with some kind of car, like a Chevelle or Camaro. I also need to pay off some debt.
The big thing is, though, I need to know if it's even worth enough to try to sell. If I can get what I need for it, I'll just keep it. I'm not discouraged enough with it yet to give it away.

Re: 68 Stepside
Matt...I'm in the same boat...bored with my truck That's why I bought me a burb
and selling my truck too I can vouch for your truck though....very nicely done...This market is not in a sellers favor right now, so if you can sit it out I would....but to answer your question.... $20k-$25k with the crate motor or sell it without becuase I think it becomes a really GREAT candidate for an LS swap, but doubt that will get you what you need out of it selling it as a truck w/ no engine....

Re: 68 Stepside
That's the price range I was worried about. I would need to get at least $33K or it's staying with me. I know that's alot in this market, but again, I'm not really in a positiion that I HAVE to sell it.
BTW Geoff, it has an engine now. It may be bad, but it's still in there.
