Lower radiator hose cant make the bend! I've tried everything!

Hey guys I'm pretty desperate here. After trying many flex hoses, including the spectre performance flex hose. The biggest radiator hose spectre makes is only 18" long with 1 3/4" hose ends. I could not get it to work. I have come to realize that I just can not find a lower radiator hose that makes the sharp bends it needs to make.

I order the Tuff Stuff High flow long water pump. Turns out the pump inlet is around 1 5/8" I can not find a hose that will work! Did they send me the wrong pump?

Has anyone run into this before? The stock molded hose has to make such a weird turn I dont know if I will be able to match it.

Any other ideas? Should I try a molded hose off of a car with a differnt make or model?

Re: Lower radiator hose cant make the bend! I've tried everything!

I recently replaces mine with a matched one that I took off my truck and to the store but it didn't fit right, so I ended up getting a Gates flexible hose and got it to work.

Re: Lower radiator hose cant make the bend! I've tried everything!

I mentioned this before in your other thread & I'll recommend it again....

Go to the parts store & get the correct size hose 'ends' you need w/the optimum bends for your application (try & source hose ends that easily align w/o force). Then, use an exhaust pipe reducer to step (connect) the 2 different hose sizes. Place the reducer @ an area on the length of the hose thats as straight as possible.

To help secure the hoses from slipping off the reducer (not mandatory), you can have a bead of weld laid down so there's resistance behind the hose clamp.

A good parts store will have a bunch of hoses in all shapes & sizes. Just dig through & find the best combo for each end. I've done this on @ least 2 of my vehicles & never had an issue. The alternative is to have a pipe welded up that's the correct shape you need w/the correct diameter @ each end & simply attach it @ each end w/a short, straight, section of the appropriate size hose.
