Feeling the Urge...
To Sell that is. I'm getting tired of it sitting and not getting any attention. As you can see from my sig, there's been a number of things done, and some undone.
Ever been there? What'd you do? I can't weld, and rockers and some other body work has held me up over a year now with some project here and there. It's pretty much sat for near 3 years with an occasional trip around the block.

Even though its been sitting why get rid of it.
You've got such a good start on it, and like some of us you would probably regret it later....

I bought a welder two years ago and taught myself to weld. I'm pretty good at it now. Welders aren't cheap, but they sure do save you money!

I agree, I couldn't weld that good and was really nervous about diving into the whole rocker replacement thing... When I got in there I found the cab floor edge gone and part of the kick panel missing. By the time I finished one side I thought " And I've worried about doing this for so long.. what a peice of cake" It's just metal... Cut it out and weld solid metal back in.
Dive into it! cut those rockers out and replace them, you'll find out its nothing you can't weld up and grind down. I put my project off for alot longer than that.. Even sold it once and bought it back a year later. Word of advise, don't sell it because your worried about repairing the rust... Give it a shot and fix it |

When I get tired of one of my cars I just sell it and get what I want at the time. It can get expensive, but I always enjoy what I drive.
I agree with cdowns. If you have lost interest sell it, but give it plenty of thought. Just my .02.

I'm in about the same boat you are, the poor truck as sat for about a year, havn't done anything to it, I got rockers, floorpans, etc to replace also. I got the welder, compressor etc, and am getting closer to some time to use it. I'm not too far from you, maybe we could get together and help each other out...
Shoot me a email if your interested... ldh@bcdcreations.com

only problem is there is no real eye candy. put a roll pan in the front and rear and put some intro rims and youll getting some attention. with my 72 we are getting the engine in a good running condition for now but after that were gonna work on the body and make it nice. intake manifold, carb, headers and stuff like that will be one of the things on my last list. i have to start another list just for the last list. on it are things like roll pans, rims, early classic 4/6 drop, wood bed, billet grill. things like that. make it pretty before you get technical if you want attention before youre done.

Blue 68, I know how you feel man, it becomes a big burdon. MY truck has been off the road and killing my grass in the backyard for a little over a year now. all i need is about 3 grand to get it going again. IT's either my truck or school, and right now I am siding with school. IT hurts to see how much my truck has aged just sitting there.
LOL, we should start a club: "Trucks that Never Work Inc."

I'm with Krue, I collect parts till I have enought to do whatever project I'm wanting to do on the truck, drive it up by the barn, tear it down, put the new parts on, drive it awhile, tear it down again, it's more work, but it keeps me interrested.

I find the thing is you always have to picture it done, or get a pic of one you love and pin it up on your wall, I find when you start to tear your truck down, some times it gets aweful depressing looking at it all in peices, you have to have something to keep you motivated, mine took over 2 yrs, I think oldyeller had a good idea, team up with someone, then it doesn't seem so overwelming, if you like your truck at all don't let the worries of repairing it get in the way, find away to make it interesting my 2 cents

Oldyeller/Casey, thats the key I think... Dad and I have been at my '72 for 4 weeks now and its almost done (I'll drive it home this weekend), but there were many times I would look at it and think " oh, hell.. we're screwed now) and dad would just say its no big deal, its only metal and we'll weld new metal in there. I'm sure that without his help I would have stopped progress as usual.

I can't say that I've thought about selling mine yet but I have thought about selling my 69 camaro to pay for fixin the truck. The one thing that stops me is that I use to have 2 camaro's and my wife convinced me I didn't need 2.....I tried to buy it back the same nite for 200 bucks more than what I sold it for. That's something I'll always regret so think long and hard before you make any decisions.........It was a z/28 to make it even worse!!

casey: You said a mouthful. It is impossible to place a value on a truck that a father and son have worked on. I can't wait until my son is old enough to work on his truck.
