Firewall clutch rod hole - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Hi everyone –

I’m specifically looking for the correct plug/seal/plate for the clutch rod hole on the firewall of our 1971 Chevy. Ours is an automatic and this seal/plug/plate is missing. We want to use the correct part. Unfortunately I don’t have a clue what the correct name is. Does anyone sell a complete firewall restoration kit (seals, grommet, rubber, gaskets) for our trucks? Please educate me.

Welcome to the board Wayne. I don't know of any vendors selling a complete firewall plug and grommet kit. The specific part you are asking about is called a clutch delete plate. If you slide on over to the Parts For Sale forum you will probably find one for sale. If you go down to the "Forum Jump" box at the bottom of this page and click on the down arrow on the right side of the box you can scroll down and click on "The 1967-1972 Chevrolet & GMC Pickups Parts Board " and it will take you there.
