Looking for One Hard Brake Line Splitter

HI,

I bought the hard brake line kit from LMC for my truck, but it was missing this one piece for some reason...is this normal, would anyone know where I could find this section of hard / steel braided line to complete my brakes??

Doesn't make sense to replace everything else in the LMC kit and not to include this one piece?!?

Re: Looking for One Hard Brake Line Splitter

Isn't that the flexible rubber line that is bolted to the rear axle housing? If it is, you can get it at just about any auto parts store. It should have a flat end that has a banjo bolt and then tees the hard lines off for the rear brakes. The other end screws directly on to the hard line from the proportioning valve.

Yes, that is the line but I'm wondering if you can get it in stainless steel or in braided line.

Re: Looking for One Hard Brake Line Splitter

On a side note, and not to derail the thread... but how do you find these lines to fit?

I am looking to do disc brakes on the rear, I need a new boost and figure i might as well do all new lines while i'm at it

Worth the money or would i better off hiring a friend to bent me all new lines?

Re: Looking for One Hard Brake Line Splitter

Gordon,

If you want it in SS you should be able to make it your self with a chuck of tubing and some swagelock fittings (greggs/acklands/any instrumentation supply store)

Word of warning, swagelock is not cheap but worth the money

As for breaded, a place like Acklands, or even gregs should have it.

Go to the gregs on the west end, on 118th ave and east of 170th. They have a HUGE, and i mean absolutely HUGE selection of any kind of hose you could want. Long as you know what threads you want on each end

Judging by the picture you'll want breaded cause it needs to move with the suspension of the truck. SS would be to rigid i think and you'll end up breaking it over time

I agree with this thread...doing it over I would bend them all myself.

Just bought a new master cylinder from Justin at Scott's Hot Rods...not sure it will match up with the LMC lines in the front anyways& will probably have to make my own lines up there.

I will try to get around to looking at them tonight before the football game..

Re: Looking for One Hard Brake Line Splitter

Are you worried that the lines may not match up in terms of position, or the threads?

Re: Looking for One Hard Brake Line Splitter

Lines will match up, but 1 rubber hose amoung a system of hard lines = weak link
