New window regulators

I just stripped out my right window crank and the window regulator is also stripped from what looks like a set screw. Anyone know of a good replacement window regulator and handle? I looked at some at our last swap meet, but they looked so cheap and it would be nice to find something that will last awhile...

Thanks!

Re: New window regulators

I found both NOS window and door latch regulators on Ebay a few years ago. They still turn up every now and then. Don't know how well the new replacement parts compare in quality.

I have an extra drivers door laying around that has all the original window parts that are all free and move if interested.

Re: New window regulators

Hey Tony; I put one in the '66 on the drivers side and it was a new set-up. It's tight and works well. The only issue I have is that my original window crank doesnt fully engage the splines. I've had it fall off a couple times. I have a new crank but havent tried it to see if it fully engages the shaft better than the old one.

Re: New window regulators

I bought one from classic and it fell apart. They sent me a new one and it has worked so far, but I wasn't impressed by it, but it's better than nothing.

Re: New window regulators

tHE replacement stuff is cheap. I replaced mine on th e64 and never was able to keep them tight on the spline. Very poor quailty. NOS if you can find them.IMO I have orignal on my 66 and they never ever fall off.\
Good luck

Re: New window regulators

Guys if you buy the replacement units, drill the center of the splined shaft, tap it with threads, drill a hole in the handle center, counter sink it slightly and use a bevel head screw, all mopars were this way, had a friend do the same on his truck somes years back and has never gotten loose yet. Also line the splined shaft with a small pisece of aluminum foil to take out the slop of the replacement handles.

Mine is the opposite problem; the shaft is too large to fully engage the crank. Maybe I have some junk in the way of it working?

Re: New window regulators

Thanks guys.

I think I will try to locate a good used oem unit if I can... Since it's the passenger side, I might have a better chance at finding a decent one.

I found a NOS on eBay, but I can't afford $94 right now.

Can you pm me a price shipped to 85027? I need the passenger door but if the price is right, I'll get the drivers too.

Thanks
