I NEED A CHOKE and some help
I have a 1985 chevy silverado i have a 305 with a rochester quad in it i need an automatic choke brother in law broke the metal piece clean off he jb welded it but when i hook it up the choke light is on and the truck will not run very well at all oh yea and i had the carb rebuilt well it runs not so good but it does backfire when you rev up the engine when you can keep it running you have to keep it floored and when you let go it dies and I have no clue how the vacuum hoses go on cause my dip stick brother in law didnt mark them when he took them off oh yea and he was doing somthing undernieth the truck the other night and well i drove two blocks from my house and my gas gage went from half a tank to almost empty i know the horn doesnt work every time i put a fuse in it it pops it every time I NEED HELP AAAAHHHH! any suggestions would be awsome.

sounds like you need the big round aluminum choke housing piece that screws to the side of the carb, i may have a couple laying around that will work.
vacuum hoses are pretty basic, there will be one for the distributor vacuum advance, and if it has A/C then a couple for that on the pass side. EGR can be left unhooked, and same with exhaust heat riser and air cleaner motor stuff, etc etc The charcoal canister hoses are pretty basic too once the other hoses are removed or out of the way. |
