Which Silver?

Hey Guys, just want some other fellow square body peoples opinion on silvers... Im building a 86 from ground up and i've definately decided on silver, just not which one... Truck has a 4.5/6 drop, rear disc brakes,18" coys c-5s (gunmetal) nice little 383. My theme underhood will be chevy orange , aluminum, and black. Its going to be a fun/ nice driver. I really like the wa8867 gm silver that was on all the 88-98 trucks, corvettes , ect, but some of my friends say no.. I was just looking for some more imput.. Let me know what you think, i'm gonna create a build thread soon...

Re: Which Silver?

I like a lot of the newer luxury car silvers, like the Mercedes and Lexus colors. They have a really fine flake to them. Some of that depends on what you are looking to do. I made my own for a couple of cars I had in the past, using the mid 90's Dde pickup "driftwood" color. It throws a gold cast out. I quadrupled the flop adjuster and doubled the gold pearl on my Mustang, and it had a greenish gold glow. On my 90 Lincoln, I did pretty much the same thing, but added a violet pearl also. It was a pretty trick color, depending on how the sun hit it.

I would keep an eye out for newer cars. There are some really cool colors out.

Re: Which Silver?

Ill have to look at the benz color, im the painter at our towns local toyota dealership, its just i see so many colors at times they all run together, and being a painter makes it tougher for me to choose colors for my own stuff.. i like the idea of the pearls in silver, on some stuff, i like simple sometimes too. you know sometimes the best details that make something are the most simplest things... Thanks for the imput so far, i'm gonna look at all your suggestions and take it into consideration.. thanks guys!

Re: Which Silver?

Check out the Porsche silvers, too. I think they still make at least two different ones.
I think the new (around '09+) silver that GM puts on its trucks is great too. So much better that the old silver frost, silver birch, pewter, etc.
