What year COE?
This should be easy for a group as smart as you.
I can't seem to find a match, based on my extensive and intensive google images searching. What year is this dang thing? I will be checking your answer, btw. It's sitting down the road from me about 7 miles. What's throwing me off is the horizontal grill. Why would the bars be horizontal, when I'm finding pretty much only vertical? What is the distinction? That IS a Chevy badge, isn't it?... Just thought you might enjoy an ID game. (BTW, I have a HUGE crush on this thing) |

Re: What year COE?
I know of another guy who might be checking into it, and since I mentioned this truck to him, I'll give him first dibs.
However, I own/run a lawn service, and, of course, have grandiose visions of this thing doing work for me. A hotrod flatbed hauler, a hotrod dump truck / leaf truck, just a promotional hotrod truck..... the dreams go on. You know what you all say about time and money, though. :-) My wife is sick of hearing about this thing EVERY time we drive past. Haha. I just consider that to be good strategy on my part. Make her want me to get it so I'll shut up about it. I don't even know what he may be asking. It hassss been sitting there for several months, however...... |

Re: What year COE?
I'm not sure how the COE's work, but if it is in fact a '47, that means GM just got lazy on the COEs and built a '47 truck with all '46 parts as the 'Advance Design' was launched in 47...
regardless, a freaking sweet ride!! |

Re: What year COE?
Gm was famous for half year trucks. 47 1st and 47 2nd and the 55 1st and second series that looked nothing a like

Re: What year COE?
I'm just going to have to admire it from afar. I already have a project, and can't swing this too.

Re: What year COE?
It looks like it has a pretty well made bed that was several steps above what most people put on those trucks at that time on it. It also looks like it might have a hoist on the bed.
With a few upgrades such as a later big six or V8 and a full syncro four or five speed that might be a heck of a serious work truck that could do double duty as a hot rod truck on weekends. Even work trucks need to get to play sometime. Last edited by mr48chev; 01-21-2012 at 11:47 PM. |
