That one was for sale for a long time. It looked like they did a nice job, but it wasn't to my taste. I think some better wheels would have made it more with the trends and brought the $ up a lot.

Yeah, I saw it go across the block, those wheels are

Reading the description on the Barrett Jackson website: "a new rare roll pan replaced the standard rear bumper."

Rare roll pan? what is that?

All in all I thought it sold for weak $$. An OE grille, chrome bumpers and some Coy's or even some truck rally's would have added 3 or 4k to that sale price, IMO.

Re: Blazer on Barrett Jackson

They are listing it as sold for $17,050 including buyer's commission. That would be a $2050
buyer commission which is 13.67%. I thought it was usually 10%? Some earlier (50's) trucks went for some good money last night (stock restorations).

This 72 Jimmy sold for $28,600. Note that the AC compressor is unplugged - betcha it doesn't work:

I saw that one. Thought it was a little high for the truck IMO.

Their site says 10% for bidders on-site and 12% for absentee bidders which still doesn't add up. Maybe sales tax is added on?

Its 10% buyers fee or 12% if you bid online or via phone plus 10% sellers fee if I'm not mistaken plus sales tax. All that is added in the fee they show on tv.

I just got back from Barrett Jackson last night. I looked the blazers over real good.

This one here mentioned sold for about the right money in my opinion. It was nicely done with nice paint and good panel fitment. Had the suspension switched to 3/4 ton stuff and it all looked fresh underneath. Interior was done nicely and all chrome looked fresh. Very clean and presentable truck that would probably win local shows. It was missing spare tire stuff, and maybe some other minor things to change that would really just be personal taste per individual.
Would have been sweet with an LS swap and an overdrive, might have brought even more money.
But overall the buyer got a good truck for the money.

Saw this one, sale was weak and for good reason. It doesn't appeal to the people on the board, and it didn't appeal much to the crowd either.

This is correct except for the seller part,,,,seller pays 8% which is taken out of the hammer price.

You aren't kidding. I saw 3x more pickup trucks there than in years past. I'd go out on a limb and say there was every year, model and brand pickup truck ever made present at the auction this year There was just that many trucks. I got sick of seeing them all.

For every single collectable muscle car there, there were probably 3 truck I'm probably not exagerating that either. Even my 12 year old son said there were alot of pickup trucks there. When a 12 year old notices, that's saying something

Re: Blazer on Barrett Jackson

Seem like there is alot of late 40's and early 50's trucks. Even the commentators stated that trucks are hot right now.

Re: Blazer on Barrett Jackson

Definately. I like the pickups too, but it was pickup overload this weekend. I especially like the fat fender fords, or anything from the 40's looks good.
Can't go wrong with a 67-72 either though I like the boxy trucks as well.

If you guys were looking for a pickup truck to buy, this was your year.

Yep, I plan to watch in a couple hours. There are a couple of cars selling tonight and tomorrow that are duplicates I have in the stash here. I'm curious what they might bring. Should get exciting

Re: Blazer on Barrett Jackson

I took a few pics, but it was overwhelmingly crowded for a Thursday, even in the morning. More than usual. So I refrained from taking too many as you just couldn't get people out of the way.
Hold on and I'll post up a few.

Re: Blazer on Barrett Jackson

Here is a shot of the crowd as we sat in the auction room. This was thursday morning, not an empty seat in the house. Last year on this same day (I go Thursday every year) it was maybe half full.
I'd say people are starting to lighten up on this whole economy thing

GM had their new NHRA stock eliminator camaro on display, ready to compete against the challengers and mustangs. It's about time GM joined the party

I'll have a few more shortly.

Re: Blazer on Barrett Jackson

I took a couple pics of SCJ stangs and a special camaro or two as I have these hiding in the garage, so don't banish me

You'll have to forgive the short up close pictures. I couldn't back off enough as people started walking all around, just too crowded, so I had to get up front and personal where people wouldn't be walking right in front of me. They are just in their own little world ya know and not paying attention
