I opened the hood and checked the oil on my truck. Everything was good, and i pushed the dipsitck back in the engine. I started the engine, and all of a sudden i heard an awful ticking noise. Something is rubbing the dipstick, and i dont know what. It makes a real loud tick, and it gets worse as the rpms build. Does anybody have any idea what it is? Can u tell me how fix it?

Pull out the dipstick! Seriously tho. are you sure something is hitting the dipstick? are you sure it is the right one? How is the oil pressure? A little more info would help.

pull the stick...does it stop making the noise?

when i pull the dipstick, the noise goes away. The oil pressure is running about 60 psi. The pressure is really good, like right where it always is. i have no clue what the problem is.

turn the dip stick 180 degrees and stab it back in

í tried flipping it 180. suprise. it worked. thanx fer the help guys. that should have been a no brainer

Camoplast 1.5 inch track, jaws twin pipes, b+b can, custom built and weighted clutch, wiseco piston, high comp heads. its very fast. wow. 72 c-10 longbox. Bright Orange.
