Hi all, just introducing myself
found this sight through roadkillcustoms. i got a 57 chevy apache 3100. got it from a guy who had 5. sold the other four to his buddys and let them swap out parts. i bought the truck cheap. it consists of 3 different trucks. pulled the motor and had it rebuilt and beefed up some. front nose is completely off, and so is the bed. cab is lifted off the frame. gonna do some frame restoring in the spring. fix the body parts up. keeping it old school, no front clips form newer cars or trucks, no giant motors, old tricks for linkage and suspension. it will have the original 235 3 speed on the floor.

Welcome to board.
Nice truck. I have always liked the fish mouth look of the 57 grill. Im a big fan of building something your not afraid to drive. It never ceases to amaze me what you guys in the northeast are able to produce considering what you have available to start Look forward to more pics. Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: Hi all, just introducing myself
as of right now there is about half a foot of snow up here. my project is behind the garage. that is where it will all be done and brought to life. i would work in the garage but my dads 62 impala and my moms truck is in it. i get a couple hrs a night to work on it and sometimes weekends due to long work days. theres not a lot of bone yards with antique auto up here either.

Re: Hi all, just introducing myself
huge project ahead!! I also pieced my truck together from 4+ trucks! haha... Keep the pics coming, and what I did was start hitting up craigslist for parts! do the badges on the fenders say 3600? Looks like the front end may have come off a 3/4 ton longbed if those turn signals are original! haha
awesome. |

Re: Hi all, just introducing myself
actually they are 3100 original tags, when i took the turn lights off it was rigged up and half assed installed. the guy i bought it off gave me a newer fender with some minor rot at the bottom and what looks like some one took a ball peen hammer to the top of the fender near the light, an extra driver door, and the ribs and roof from another cab to fix my cab where it was dented in on the driver side.

Cool truck, like the 57 because it could be had with the most bling. Good luck with your build, it takes patience and more money than you think when you really get into it. Im doing a 58 and its almost ready for paint.
