Ya I've been working on my 1971 chevy Cheyenne I'm looking to do the whole front end on it.While i was under the truck I noticed I don't have a factory sway bar.I thought if you bought a Cheyenne you get one with that modal of truck strange.I do have a question.I'm having to remove the Core support and passenger wheel well do to the PO let the old battery sweat or leak out and it ate the battery tray and core support and wheel well.Lucky I found a guy junking out a 1972 3/4 ton with perfect parts.My main question is do i have to take the hood off the truck to get the core support off.Or can i just losen up the fenders and spread them a little and pull the core support out.

I've token Both wheel wells off bumper radiator every thing that needed to come off or disconnected it off so are the core support bolts But looks like i will be buying news ones do to they are a little on the rusty side

One other question dose any one make a stainless steel I bolts and the sleeve so i don't have the rust issue even the steel square wash would be nice

I think you will have to remove the hood. I think you will also have to loosen the rear fender bolts as well. The core support is a tight fit between the front fenders. Also sway bars were optional on any trim level, not trim level specific. Here's a couple of pics of my 72 truck spids, ones a Cheyenne and ones a Custom Deluxe. Joseph

No need to remove the hood. I did a 454 transplant last summer and did just what your asking. Just remove the bumper, loosen (or remove the inner fenders in my case) and unbolt the support. It will come right out the front.

ya i did that it slide right out now where thing of removing the engine and do all the gaskets and paint it the orange and black use them new rubber gaskets that fram makes with the metal in the middle.Do they make a hole kit to do the pan valve covers timing cover i have a 2 peace rear main and front main seal need ones for them as well.

Plus i'm going to redo the whole front end bushings and ball joints and radiator bushing's and so on

then adding a 1991 700R4 for MPG hi have saved up 10 of them from 1987--92 1/2 there all cable

Probley going to spray under coating in the fenders to keep the cancer away going to paint the core support and see if we can clean up the black Fire wall if i can buff it out i rather keep the lacquer Black paint on the fire wall

My nabor is dying to work on a old something so he might get some of the work i will get some pic's up mabey tommarow

The one in the picture is the one i'm working on under my name
