What is this for?

This cylinder is location on the passenger side of my firewall and has several hoses coming off of it and then T'ing off! There's one hose coming off of it that's not attached to anything but I don't know where it goes? The second question is there's another one coming off of the driver's side that bigger that I need to know where it goes also! Stay tune for some more pictures tomorrow when the SUN comes up! Also the cruise does work anymore!

I hav e nother hose that I'll be asking about tomorrow and my vaccum hos e is still install and branches off and the hoses are still connectecd I need to know if i need them or not? Pictures tomorrow!

My brakes all so blows air when compressed, but the cruise servo on mine is shot. So I do not know if itīs supposed to be like this. I donīt have the cylinder you have on yours. I asumed that was for the lockup, I have a 700r4 box so I figured thatīs why I donīt have one.

Thanks! I have the 700R also, but the cruise worked at one point though!
I have got to figure this out are it will drive me insane!!!

TCC switch on firewall

I was running out of daylight so this isn't the best. This truck wasn't monkeyed with too much although hose coming off the switch goes outside the the black plastic "wire tunnell" (notice the delay valve on it) then loops right back through the "wire tunnel" & ends up at a Tee connector over the intake (2nd pic - I"m holding the hose). The LH hose off the Tee connector goes to the driver's side upper port on the passenger's side TVS.

The bottom plastic hose from the Tee Goes to the top hose on the driver's side top diaphram on the vapor canister. This poor truck is one greasy mess right now.

May as well post another example off my beat-up C20 werk truk. It was originally a 305/700R4 truck but now has a junkyard 350 in it. This hose routing is functionally the same as my other truck but I physically routed the hoses different per the voices in my head that day.

In pic 1, the plastic hose headed toward the driver's side goes down the fenderwell & ends at the vapor canister. The plastic hose headed toward the middle of the truck drops down on the RH side of the engine (by the EGR valve) & ends up at the TVS where I'm pointing. It's the port on the RH side of the pic (LH side of truck).

Turns out I donīt have a TVS, but all my hoses and vaccum lines are connected. I guess someone did away with it at some point. So I did some google work and I learned that the TVS control the EGR, preventing it from opening when the engine is cold, right?

So the emissions system would still function without TVS once the engine has reached normal operating temperature?

I think you're right: no EGR when the engine's cold. I also think the EGR would work fine one you're warmed up. There's so many variations of TVS's, delay valves, check valves: it's mind-boggling.

I like to remove these when I'm at the recycling yard since they are so easy to break when I'm working on anything near them!!

Do U know where it connects, because it's disconnected (hose not plugged in anywhere)!

On my truck, the large side of the check valve goes to the intake manifold for vacuum. The other sides go to the climate control vacuum line and to the vacuum ball.

Also, the switch in the very first post with the green/blue wires running to it, is most likely the TCC lockup vacuum switch.

Yep, the little black thing you have circled is the check valve.
