Lucky parts truck find

Every 3-5 years a buy a truck to use for various parts and they are getting harder and harder to find. Picked this one up Saturday.
Found it out in the woods with 22 options listed on the SPID (what the mice didnt chew up... Had to cut down trees with a chainsaw to get it out.
Buckets, tilt, a/c to name a few of the many options.
There are still a few out there.

Re: Lucky parts truck find

Thanks! Gotta have a parts truck around and when it's loaded up with options you cant beat it.
It would have been a really nice truck in its day but to far to restore in my opinion. I have done resto's on ones like this when I was younger but not no mo.
What did I pay for it...C'mon man! More than I wanted to, but not too much.

Re: Lucky parts truck find

I am in sales so I had to needle you on that question.
Being from the SHOW-ME state you would think I would get used to that question...
Anyway, I didnt have to give alot. It was more that it took some effort to get it than money out of pocket. Thats a hard thing to put a value on though. I consider my time nearly priceless anymore.

Re: Lucky parts truck find

Thanks Randy!
Looks like something you would find! Gotta love the buckets and tilt! Lots of a/c parts too.
Actually, the hub caps are missing the false lug nuts so not as great as it looks on the picture.
I wish I could come up with one like this more often as the parts only go so far.

Black Sheep,
Your are right.
BTW, that was me that sent you a text today about your nice GMC.
This is not the colorado truck obviously....
You are in Lebanon, and I own my granparents place in Hartville. Small world.

Re: Lucky parts truck find

It's good to be the king....even if it is only for a day!
Thanks man, I am happy to have found it.
Now for the story!
I was buying a 71 truck from a guy here in Missouri and when I told him I like 71 and 72 trucks principally he said "I have a 72 sittin out in the back of the property and it was loaded with options" I said while I was there I might as well look if he was interested in selling. That was last April and I finally found time to go get it last Saturday.
As my pappy would say...."Anything worthwhile is worth waiting for".

Re: Lucky parts truck find

That's hard to beat for parts. In these parts it seems no one ever got the good options in their trucks.

Re: Lucky parts truck find

Nice! Thats a nicely optioned parts truck, all the ones i find around here are low optioned and rusted into the ground. Looks like the mice even got hungry enough to chew the spid up! Nice find. Joseph

Re: Lucky parts truck find

Here are the only other two shots I had taken on my phone of it.
If anyone wants to see something specific, just let me know.
Mice! Oh yeah!! Look at the vacuum reserve bulb. Also the belts are gone. Literally chewed off. Glove compartment was filled with a mouse nest.
Unfortunately option U69 is gone. Someone replaced the factory am/fm with a 8 track radio.
Let me know what you all want to see in the way of pictures and I will post up what you want to see.
