Started the dash pad repair w/bed liner
OK, so I read all of the posts here on using bed liner to repair the dash pad. Pulled it off, used the dremmel to cut off/smooth all of the cracks. Used fine chicken wire to replace the rotted speaker grills. I used a product that I sell called Big Stretch. It is for sealing doors and windows, sticks to everything and has alot of stretch to it. I filled the cracks as best I could. Kinda like putting icing on a cake trying to get it smooth. Some cracks were large, but this stuff is suppose to cover up to 2". I cleaned it all with alcohol, just laid down my first couple of coats. It looks REAL nice where there were no cracks. THe cracks are still evident, but alot better than it was. I might go back with the Big Stretch after this coat and smooth it out, and then coat again. THe dash was mostly shot, so I have nothing to loose. It cant be any worse than it was. I cant decide if I want to leave it black or go grey since that I what I am changing the interior over to. I will post photos when done.
