Question Rear Disk conversion on 3/4 ton

Well after doing some homework and getting info from others on the board i feel i have enough info to be able to move forward with converting my Eaton rear from drum to disk. Now for the big question. It will only run me about $600.00 which i am suprised really is not that much.

Question.
Is this conversion really a worth while investment?

Also has anyone done this conversion on the 3/4 tons yet? If so are you happy with the results?

$600 seems a bit on the hi side. Your'e only talking about a couple of late 70's brake calipers for a cadillac , mounting plates ,and a couple of 8 lug rotors. The mounting plates you can make yourself or buy them in a kit form. Theres a company that sells a whole kit for Danas for around $300 . I'm at work and dont have the company name handy but its been posted on this site before. They may even make them for eatons as well. If not the brackets wouldnt be hard to modify to fit the eaton.

I bought a set of front backing plates off ebay for $10.00. Drill new holes, add spacers and open the center hole and there you go. Rear backing plates. Two rotors and two calipers and you have 4 wheel disc.

Check out Blackbird's Custom Trucks. They list a kit for the Eaton.
