V6 Pics

I would love to see every ones pictures of their V6's. 637's and 702's would also be acceptable.

Please list what motor it is.

Re: V6 Pics

Not much to look at, but here are shots of mine dead stock before it was pulled:

At the time it had a cracked valve and the cost to rebuild was twice what I could afford. It was completely disassembled and with great difficulty (because of the weight) hauled to the dumps. I was going through a divorce at the time, moving to an apartment, and absolutely nobody wanted it.

Those plaid valve covers really do make a difference. That engine is beautiful.

Re: V6 Pics

Here's what my 63 305E looked like the day I got the truck...

And this is what it looked like after a Holley 500 swap a couple months later...

I have since replaced it with a crate 383 but am holding on to it to clean it up and drop it in a future project.

Here's mine when I bought it. I still have to get rid of the blue, it makes it look like a _ord. Sorry didn't want to write it out.

Re: V6 Pics

Thought I liked the Chrome valve covers better, but after seeing these cleaned up Plaid's, I'd say it's a toss up for me.

Love those plaid valve covers, maybe we will trip across a set someday.

Here's our 351 right after converting to HEI and Holley 500...

Re: V6 Pics

Big HEI, not for me, too large, too many problems caused by the coil in the cap, like module murder. I built one oif my own small body HEI's, with remote oil filled coil, for my 305E.

I went a slightly different way on my Holley, off a 292 V8 Ford truck, home made adapter, dual feed bowl off a 3310 780 cfm carb, looks similar, works excellent for my 305.

Looks like it has factory power steering, and power brakes, which my C30 had had those options already.

I wonder what it would take to set up a set of paint patterns for respraying the valve covers to the plaid pattern, and make them easily available to all? Maybe a closet industry in the making.

Re: V6 Pics

On the plaid covers, there were heat shrinked with a really heavy duty plastic. I have a can of plaid paint that I keep with the truck to have some fun with.

Plaid brand paint with a small paper print of the pattern on a spray can. all the kids fall for it, and a few adults too! - Scary!
