Black primered trucks, look good, pictures?
Just wondering what all you guys use for black primer? I am really starting to like the look of black primer and being able to touch it up when you wan't even makes it better. I see alot of primers for sale, which is the best for the buck? thanks

Why not just use a paint like SEM Hot Rod Black.
This way you have a black primer look and still have the protection of a regular paint and not a primer.

http://www.tcpglobal.com/kustomshop/...IT-HRF201-M-GL $149... Primer is not a good sealer and the metal will rust under it and then you have a big mess to clean up later.. This is a gallon kit. I dont know how good this stuff is but maybe someone here has used it and can share more info...

Use SPI's black epoxy primer. It's waterproof and has UV inhibitors so it won't chalk up over time. Yes folks, you can use it as a top coat.

The link is above ( tcglobal) I have been messing with that stuff since it came out. Easy to use and quality has been as good as the over priced stuff. Plus I have yet to have a mis match on % of gloss from panel to panel, even painting some stuff a year later. you cannot tell I did not shoot it at the same time

Re: Black primered trucks, look good, pictures?
Funny I was using it to paint for low dollar budget build bobbers. And what we found was that it was way better than the high dollar dual stage paints. LOL.. I painted a test panel that I left outside through the az sun .. 3 years later it still looks like I just sprayed it.
Myself have been very impressed. but not having a tv show or tons of adds in magazines, my vote does not count.. HA HA Last edited by GMR-PERFORMANCE; 01-30-2012 at 10:44 AM. |
