I am building a stock height original looking black 72 SWB with upper and woodgrain lower mouldings.I have some 8" wide ralley rims.What size white letter tires look the best on these trucks?

Mine is a long box and I prefer the look of blackwalls on my truck but attached is the pics of mine. It is stock height with 15 x 8 rallys all around and tall ( 29.04 inches ) 255/70R15 tires. The tires are Cooper Cobras and are outlined white letter on the inside. I like the way the truck sits with this setup and was always wanting to lower my truck but have changed my mind since I put the 255's on as I love the way the wheelwells are filled out with this setup.

I agree - on 8" rallies, 255-70-15 is best look. A tall tire that fills out the wheelwell nicely.

I'd avoid 60 series tires unless lookingh for a staggered-big/little look, in which case I'd run 235-70-15 up front and 275-60-15 out back. 255 in front possibly, but you will run the risk of a tire up front that looks taller than the rear, not ideal for the stagger/rake, etc.. 60 series up front is just too small a sidewall (and looks odd with 275-60 up front to make it tall)

For stock 6" steelies, I use 235-75-15, approx the same height overall (as a 255-70-15), just narrower for the narrower 6" rim of a stick steelie.

I have some on a 70 swb. I think they are 255-70-15. I will look tommorrow. They fit nicely. I replaced some 6,50 15 they were like pizza cutters.

It's called Ice Coral Pink and it was a factory mid-year color in 1971.

He changed trucks ,When did you get this one ? I like it too but the stepper is still my all time favorite truck of all.

I'm guessing some aftermarket company makes 15X10 Rallys for a pickup, 5x5 pattern???

THose that have Corvette Rally's are they 5X5 pattern???

Definitely 255/70/15, I have 275/60/15 on my stock truck and the gap between the tires and the fenders is too large in my opinion.

Calm down, fellas.

That's not my truck, it's a buddy's. He stopped by one day after he finished it up.

I can't remember what color his truck is. I think it's a factory GM color, though.
