Source for truck bed tool box door?

Hi - I have a '70 GMC C10 LWB with the factory tool box option. The door on it is shot, however -- has cancer and the original handle has been removed and patched over. The box itself appears to be fine.

Does anyone know of anywhere that sells a replacement part and/or patch panel for this particular option? I know it's rare, so I may be SOL, but thought I'd check.

Thanks.

I don't think anyone makes aftermarket parts for the bed toolbox and the door. Only way I know is to look in the classifieds on the board or maybe one of the board vendors who deals in used parts.

I just saw this (not mine) on the Phoenix Craigslist and remembered this thread. Sounds like all the toolbox stuff is available if you purchase the right bed side. It's a few hundred miles from you though. http://phoenix.craigslist.org/nph/pts/2821919945.html

Re: Source for truck bed tool box door?

I have got a complete long fleetside box with option #VK2 tool stowage available here in the NW, still wearing original paint and has no rustouts on or under the door. Box was removed from a pretty clean 72 cheyenne two tone 525 yellow/white truck, so it has all the upper & lower molding holes already in place. Mel

This is one of the harder pieces to find for our trucks. You may have to have your door rebuilt and buy the hardware from a member or by the whole thing from someone...pretty pricey either way.

. . . .

My 70 C-10's door was rebuilt last year - but it took many hours of work.
