where can i find a kit to convert to power brakes? from what i have found i will need a bracket to mount the booster to the fire wall and a diff rod that attaches to the brake pedal.

Are you converting from manual drum/drum to power drum/drum? If so, this is what I did:

- Pulled booster bracket and pedal push rod from parts yard for like $15 (cleaned and painted)
- Purchased remanufactured booster & master cylinder (cleaned and painted) - you can use the same master cylinder if it's in good condition, but I opted to replace.
- Replace pedal push rod firewall boot.

I would strongly recommend the following:

- Inspect wheel cylinders, brake hardware and drums (I opted to replace my wheel cylinders)
- Replace brake hoses
- It's a really good time to inspect all of your brake lines (I chose to replace mine because the front lines were pretty rough.

This is a pretty easy to do. That said, good brakes are obviously very important, so I would recommend doing it right the first time. Also, you will also likely need to adjust your brake light switch when you're done.

i bought the truck with front disc but no power brakes, is it common to have front disc without having booster?

My truck is disc front and no power. I could be wrong but I think it was pretty common. I am just getting the brackets etc from the junkyard and adding a booster, m/c, and proportioning valve.

Personally, I'd hit the junkyard and get a complete unit with all the brackets and bolts. This will also show you how to install.
