Checking interest parting the EAGLE 72 AC truck

OK here is the deal, PLEASE READ before you post.
I'm thinking about parting this truck out, I can't get it sold complete for what its worth but all I'm looking for right now is if anyone would be interested in the bigger items off it, NONE of the small stuff
1) Like the NON rusted AC cab with nothing but front and rear windows in it for the price of $1500
2) bare 72 doors non rusted for $400
3) bed with tool box door for $600, little rust in door and under door, no tailgate.
4) complete front clip for $400, little bubbling in pass cup and some rust in inner fender but I have a better inner to go with it
5) complete AC setup thats working $500
6) complete running motor and good tranny
As I said above I will not sell anything off this till I have some interest in these bigger items
Thanks for your time, Randy

Re: Checking interest parting the EAGLE 72 AC truck

Why not paint it and sell complete. Almost too nice to part. Trading the eagle for a nice two tone is bound to get a good price. I have friends pouring thousands into trucks that are not nearly as nice or complete as this one. I like it!

Re: Checking interest parting the EAGLE 72 AC truck

Shawno72, I think that may why it's not selling complete

tooter, I hate to do it but I can't get anyone to buy it complete and I've got my blazer going to bodyshop, and he is going to be wanting some money

72blazr, it is too nice to part but actually its worth more parted out. This thing drives like a champ, but no one wants to buy it complete. Putting a good paint job on it would just be wasting my money, paint and materials alone would probably be $2000 then the labor.

Thanks for you guys input, Randy

Good point the eagle may be scaring off the buyers.

Have you tried putting it on Ebay? That would be best bet to sell as a whole if you could find some nutty collector that would want it.

I'm not in the market, but I'm surprised to see that no one likes the eagle. Seems like a pretty rare option in decent shape and I'd think it was worth more with it than being painted over to the average buyer.

Re: Checking interest parting the EAGLE 72 AC truck

Randy. Here's an idea. I still have that 72 K20 chassis I picked up at your golf course from Joe so many years ago. The chassis is rolling with transfer case driveshafts and tranny in place and minus engine. Clean title and VIN. Make a real nice 4x4 and easy one to do with what you have there. Probably triple the price swapped over. Would take you a weekend to swap complete. Mark

Randy,

I'd be interested in the doors if there's no rust and you're going to part it.

Re: Checking interest parting the EAGLE 72 AC truck

shawno72, too funny, it might bite them

flashed, I think your right

Meatman, Cory, tried ebay only brought $1500 there, and as you know its worth way more than that

Classic Bowties, I would rather sell it whole to anyone in Canada or US

rbagley, thats what I think

Hotfun, Mark, I have thought on making it a 4x4 but the blazer is going to run into alot of money for me so thats out to me

29od1, David, no rust at all in doors. I'll put you on the list, We will see what happens

Thanks to all of you for your comments, Randy

Re: Checking interest parting the EAGLE 72 AC truck

Guys please keep interest in thread only, please don't pm me right now about parts off this truck only interested if anyone is interested in the bigger items. I do appreciate your interest I just don't want to fill up my pm box right now since I have alot of other parts for sale on other threads. I've had quite a bit of interest so I will be making a decision on it soon. Thanks Randy

Randy, wouldn't classify it as a big piece but " IF " you do part the truck I would be interested in the auto column pending condition and $$ even if it is not a tilt. Hoping to find a tilt at the swap meet but one never knows and I for sure will need a column when I pull my floor shift tilt during the swap from std. to auto. Nice clean truck and hate to see it parted but my vote is NOT for the eagle decals. Just a bit over the top for my taste.

Randy,

Don't part it. Remove the decals (im not a fan of them, but i love the truck) clean it up and try again, i bet come spring it would do better. I just hate to see it get parted.

My $.02 anyway.

Re: Checking interest parting the EAGLE 72 AC truck

It sure seems like a good deal to me at $3K whole. That's a lot of truck for not much money. I assume you have tried Epay, Autotrader and Craigslist? I may be wrong but I think the decals might be killing the sell? I think if you could scrape those off buff it out it would sell pretty easy. Just my .02.

IF I had the cash I would buy it just the way it is.
Everyone want a rust free cab.
Here it is!

I have a swb chassis that this cab, front clip, and drivetrain would be perfect on.
Just not the right time for me.

Someone buy this rare survivor and save it!
