1967-70 rear ends to 5 lug 1971-72 rear end
can i make a 1967--70 12 bolt or 10 bolt chevy rear end into a 5 lug or convert a 5 lug into a 6 lug buy using the different years of axles if you can Private message me so i can get the answer thanks

axles are not the same length

You can get aftermarket swap axles & use 71-72 drums. Aftermarket axles will be stronger than originals & have zero bearing wear vs 40yrs of wear.

Agree with Scoti. Did this on my first '68. Used aftermarket axles that were 5 lug but for the narrower rear axle and used '71-'72 drums on the stock brakes. Worked great. Other option is to swap in a '71-'72 axle or a '73 and later but you have to weld on saddles for the trailing arms and weld or use an aftermarket track bar.

I had my axles and drums on my 68 redrilled to 5x5 for $100 at a driveline shop.
