Cool Please, help me with advice...

Ok, had truck in the shop for a few months, for welding gearbox back to the frame.
Also, found out that the shop owner has a ‘76 like mine.

Long stony short, need advice/opinions. I don’t know how to link photos, so if you’d please go to www.photobucket.com
my user name is, c10fan_
As always thanks for your advice, I really appreciate it.

So, three quick questions,

1. Does this look like some sort of sabotage to my frame or a trans swap?

2. Do the u-joints look to be new/changed?

3. How do I reconnect the driver’s tank, currently hose is cut off with bolt in it.

Re: Please, help me with advice...

I uploaded the pictures for you.
The u-joints appear new but I'm not sure they are installed properly. I think the retaining clips hold the bearing cups in place were not installed, they appear to need pressed in more.
Guys is there another type of clip.

Tom

1. It looks like someone cut something off of your trans crossmember with a torch. It should be fine since they didnt cut very much.

2. Your u-joints look new and you have the inner c-clips, looks OK. But the yoke doesnt seem deep enough in the trans.

3. It looks to me that your dual tank selector valve has been by passed most likely because it or the switch isnt working properly. Basicaly you have three lines coming from the motor and three lines coming from each tank wich converge at the selector valve. Each set of three lines are a different size. Im assuming that the selector valve isnt working so you will need to pic the one tank you want to run so you can hook it up direct. One of the three lines will be "T-ed" with the other tank, leave that one alone. Connect the other two to the same size line from motor to the same size lines from the left tank. I hope this makes sence.

No other style for that drive shaft, I see one clip but make sure all four clips are in place. That's crazy with the fuel line and cross member, And.... What's all that silver shaving stuff all over ?

The thing about the tanks is, they were working fine before I put it in this shop. Switch made a low sound and after a few minutes it would be on the other tank.
I wanted them to just fix the gas gauge and make it read accurate, it hasn't worked right since I bought the truck.

Thanks to everyone for the great information.

Its past crazy its just downright damn evil without a cause. I thought maybe he switched my trans with his, because like I said he has a '76. Thanks, though.
