First build...rookie questions?
I wanted to throw this out there for those of you who have more knowledge than I in the matter....
Im looking to take two of my trucks and combine them into one.. The trucks at hand are a 72 C-10 6 ft step side, and a 67 C-10 8ft step side. Both are in tough shape, but workable. I have 2 questions... Will the 72 nose bolt up to the 67 cab without issue? And will the 67 cab sit on the 72 frame without issue? Just getting the ideas rolling and your input would be greatly appreciated... Thanks. |

Re: First build...rookie questions?
yes and yes. One thing you need to look out for is that the core[radiator] support mounts on the frame take a different bushing , I belive it to be smaller than the ones for 69-72. Other than that it should be smooth sailing as far as swapping stuff back and forth. A lot of people prefer the 67-68 nose and put those on newer trucks whereas some like the 71-2 nose and cleaner [to me] looks of the newer grille

Re: First build...rookie questions?
When / If you do the swap, just keep the Core support bushings from each truck in the original location. 72 stays with the 72, Vise versa and you're good.
The difference being there is a hole in the tabs where the core support sits on the frame. 67-68 the hole is smaller than 69+. That's why the bushings are different.
