Extended cab window noise
The seal looks fine. If I hold the latch in while going down the road the wind noise goes away. GM wants $65 for a new latch and I'm not sure how long or if that will even fix it. Anybody have a quality fix for this? I read on another forum about an adjustable aftermarket latch or somehow drilling my stock latch and installing a screw to adjust it but no pictures of how to do this. Thanks.

Re: Extended cab window noise
A chaeper easier fix might be to put some foam tape on the window sealing surface. That would not be seen and would not risk the chance of messing up a 65 dollar latch. Everyone I have had probably a 100 or so[ I am a used truck dealer] has some slack there but not all have air noise, just most.

Re: Extended cab window noise
I found a replacement arm on Ebay you put on the latch for $35 on Ebay that is longer and is supposed to seal better. That price is for a set. I don't think you would ever get the foam to seal up properly and I want something that is permanent and wont leak.

Re: Extended cab window noise
From what I have found is it is not always the latch itself. The way the window is sealed into the door sometimes starts to separate from the door. I had this issue with my '01 and while riding in the back I could hold the latch like you did and what it was doing was simply pulling the window assembly tighter into the door. I noticed a decent amount of movement while doing it, so after getting it back home I did the same test but in the driveway. This time when I did it I could visually see the window assembly especially the weather seal area tighten right up into the door. Luckily a buddy of mine works at GM and helped me with the pulling of the window and resealing process. Not saying it's not the latch, but it's something else to look at to further troubleshoot...

Re: Extended cab window noise
So what exactly did you do to fix it?

Re: Extended cab window noise
He pulled both window assemblies, cleaned up the frames and the doors, and resealed them. When we pulled the passenger side one he had to be replace it, he said it looked like someone at one time pried on it probably trying to gain entry into the truck and damaged the window surround.
