Drag Week 2012

Anyone going to attend this year? I found out they are starting and ending in Tulsa so I think I'm going to run. I imagine it will be in september again, but no firm dates that i've seen.

The schedule is:
- Tulsa, OK
- Ennis TX
- Gilliam, Louisiana
- Memphis, TN
- Tulsa, OK

I still have to put a new gear in, a posi and a beefed up driveshaft, but barring anything breaking over the spring or summer I'll be going.

Coweta? Your just right down the road! I had to go out of town last year when they came through Tulsa and it sucked. Wen I read on FB it was going to start and stop here I just to get involved.

Isn't Tulsa closed (or closing soon?)?

Re: Drag Week 2012

It was going to be but a couple of investors got together with the city and leased it for 2 or 3 years. If attendance will stay up I'm sure it will be open longer

Re: Drag Week 2012

They have several classes, from the outlaw down to daily driver. In one of the videos from last year I saw a big dually making a run

Personally I'm not going for the win, but more for the experience. My dad is going to tag along too which I'm excited about. He used to race chevelles in the late 60's and early 70's and I grew up around those cars, so having him come with me is a sweet treat for me.

Re: Drag Week 2012

Assuming this year's rules are similar to last year's, I think I'm going in the daily driver class. With that one, you can't run faster than 10.80, but even better is that on the final day all the daily driver vehicles run bracket style. That is nice since you don't have to be the fastest in the class to win.
