Great deal on that 3 speed Powerglide w/ overdrive.
I know something is wrong with that statement somewhere.

Re: 3 speed OD trans on cl
I think it's a Saginaw 3 speed with a Borg Warner OD unit. The big silver thing is the govoner. Also requires some wiring & I think a manifold vacuum switch to help kick down out of OD when needed.
But it is very reliable when set up. When using the OD between gears with a 3 speed, you get a 6 speed. You can also move the OD to regular 4 speed Saginaw & get an 8 speed. Here's some additional info. http://www.speedprint.com/deves50/doc/bwrebuild.pdf http://www.vcvc.org/showthread.php?1...-Unit-Question. This would be much cooler than the regular old TH 350 or a 700R4 Good Luck! |

Re: 3 speed OD trans on cl
I think its one of the older Muncie SM 318's with the Borg Warner R10 overdrive. I'm not for sure, but I think most of these have 6 volt solenoids. There are several on Craig's List throughout the country.
The later Saginaw SM326, also with the Borg Warner R10 overdrive are supposed to be stronger tranny's, but they are harder to find. I've been looking for over a year and I finally found one in Pittsburg that I bought last week.
