western chasssis flip kit doesn't seem to fit truck (1 ton)
I got the 8 inch drop flip kit for my c35, but mocking parts up, the new under axle spring perches don't fit around my old spring perches. The circle part seems to wide for one and also the two arms going up hit the stock spring perches. Take a look at the pics, maybe I'm just not getting it but something seems off. Let me know what you think...

Your perches are solid. That flip kit bracket is suppost to tuck up into the perch. Every perch Ive seen was hallow. Ive never seen a solid perch like that.

x2 on solid perches. since you will have to cut those off anyway i would send the brackets back and just flip the perches to the bottom and weld em up.

Looks to me you can just weld the flip brackets to the axle tube since they already have the offset alignment hole.

welding tha brackets to tha axle wont work cause tha tube is way smaller than tha bracket..send tha whole kit back..measure tha tube & weld tha right size perches to it..

Re: western chasssis flip kit doesn't seem to fit truck (1 ton)
On the C20/30's, the factory leaf pads are boxed in. For C10's, they're not.
Where the flip bracket typically 'tucks' under the leaf pad on a C10, the bracket for the C20/30 butts up against the outside edge of the pad & gets welded @ the point of contact on the ends (this info should be in the instructions). If it were me, to keep it simple I'd put the brackets in a vice & slightly bend both ends until the bracket seats against the axle tube @ the bottom. The notched portion does not fit perfectly as they're made for the largest axles tubes (I believe the dana70 axle tubes are larger OD vs the 14bolt). Once the ends of the bracket are welded to the OE leaf pad & the center of the tube is seated against the center of the flip bracket, you could weld a small bead where your thumb is in the above pic for further assurances. The more involved alternative, would be to disect the bracket & re-make it so each end fits, re-make the c-notch plates to the exact size you want, & then weld it back together.

Re: western chasssis flip kit doesn't seem to fit truck (1 ton)
This is what western chassis inc said....
Unfortunately you have a application that is rare for a C-30 however they are out there. You will need the C-20 Saddle that will be needed to be welded in. The Axle will sit inside and may have a little gap on the sides of the housing but will work. They are sending the right part for my axle, it needs to be welded on, which is not a bid deal. They have really great customer service and were really fast getting back with me to solve the problem. The new part welds under the old spring perch. They said the saddle does not have to be touching the axle tube all they way around but just the bottle. A weld bead along the areas of the saddle that are touching the axle tube would be fine for strength. Its mostly to keep it from moving they said. Here is the pic of the new one. The one in the back is the wrong one that was sent.

I would have answered this earlier but had a hectic day @ work. Looks like WC confirmed my thoughts.

Yeah right after I posted this I saw that you responded. Thanks for getting back with me, I also put a link to this thread in my build so people with c20's and c30's have something to refer to if this every comes up again.
