Door Handles

My'72 driver's side door handle is missing the push button. I can still open it, but have to stick a finger in. I see new sets for sale on Ebay for under $50, which I'm assuming are aftermarket replacements. Is the quality any good on these? Does GM still make them, and if so what's the cost?

And before some of you ask, yes, I'll get some pics this weekend.

Everyone sells aftermarket handles.
I've bought a couple sets from Classic Parts of America.

GM no longer makes these.
If you can find a set of NOS orignals,... they run between $200-$300 a pair.

I don't know, I guess I'll find out when I get it. Everything I've ordered before has been spot on.

I have some that i am taking off and replacing in the next month or so, and i wanted to know how to tell if they are original or not. Guess ill have to do some research.

The reproductions are not very well made. My new one broke after a few months. The plate that holds the spring and the button in place is only held on by a small crimp in the metal. It's very easy for the plate to work loose and the button falls in like you have now. What I did was used some body panel adhesive (like epoxy) to help stabilize the plate. I figured it would at the very least get it to last longer. Don't try to crimp it more because the tab area just snaps off. I have pulled at least 2 handles from parts trucks that had the plate held in with wire that wrapped around it through holes drilled in the to and bottom just behind the plate. It looked funky but was working as intended. Heres mine, just wire wheeled the areas for adhesive for better bonding. This stuff is tough as nails.
