Anyone running long tube headers with under floor booster?
I was just thinking about putting headers on my truck seems how i found a crack in one of my manifolds. Is there anyone running long tubes past their under-floor booster/master cylinder? If so how much clearance do you have? How much wrap/heat shielding did you do?
Any info and/or photos would be great!! |

Re: Anyone running long tube headers with under floor booster?
Thanks, the hooker pro comps im looking at are a little longer, and may be a little lower but I still think i will be okay. I have a firebird subframe/engine and will be ordering headers for the "firebird
the stock y-pipe that the firebird came with JUST clears under the trans crossmember in my truck like it was made for it, so I can only assume the crossmember I have in my truck was almost the identical height as the stock firebird crossmember height. I am lowering the truck 1-2" with springs but I still am confident that the truck sits higher than the firebird did, so I am going to go with the long tubes, and let you all know how it works! lol... |

Re: Anyone running long tube headers with under floor booster?
nice work parkwood.
![]() ![]() ![]() maximus, on our trucks we run the exhaust under the frame and it will still be above the body. the mc/booster will be in the frame, i don't see any interference problems. these trucks are a pain to get on a hoist because the frame is so high. our shop has 3 hoists, none are drive on
