bed cock-eyed from cab?
does anyone have any issues with their beds sitting cock-eyed from their cabs? i know my bed has about a 1" gap between the cab and bed on one side and about a 2.5-3" gap on the other side. The other thing ive noticed is that it appears that at some point before i bought it someone had cut the frame right behind the cab and patched it with some steel plates which now cause my truck to not be able to use all the bed bolts. At some point after it warms up outside ill have to try and get some pictures of what im talking about and do a vid to show you guys how easily my bed moves around on the frame, really kind of a screwy situation.
Let me know if this cock-eyed bed is somewhat of a common situation or not.

Re: bed cock-eyed from cab?
Sounds like po might have did a lwb to swb conversion and messed up a bit.

Re: bed cock-eyed from cab?
one of my squares is a shortbed conversion as well. if all 8 bed bolts are in, that means the front two he had to drill the hole. take the bed off, or just unbolt it and slide it back a little, just so the front two holes are exposed (or which ever ones he drill) open them up a size or two bigger so if there 1/2 holes bring them up to 11/16, 3/4 or maybe even 7/8, you might have to switch to a bigger washer, but it should allow for a little more movement so you might be able to get it lined up better.

Re: bed cock-eyed from cab?
That doesn't look like a 2.5"-3" gap on the passenger side.

Re: bed cock-eyed from cab?
well idk the exact gap size, i was just throwing out a number that would be in the right range of what i was thinking....might be a 2" gap idk, either way when i wash the truck i can BARELY get my hand (fingers) between the bed and cab on drivers side and i can EASILY get them between bed and ab on pass side

Re: bed cock-eyed from cab?
Right side looks pretty wide in the orignal pic to me. Check the gap between the rear bumper and the bed to see if they are the same. If you dont have holes for all the bed bolts it has been converted from lwb to swb, it would only have the front two bolts and the next to last bolts.

Re: bed cock-eyed from cab?
that sounds correct on bed bolt placement......fronts and lasts arent used.

Re: bed cock-eyed from cab?
It depends on how it was cut which bolt holes would still be there. I made my cut behind the front bolt hole, so I have the front and next to last still in mine.
