better late than never 62 short fleet
well I have been on this forum for a year or so finally got around to doing a little work on truck so im starting a build thread.I drove the truck like this for years the po had installed a sbc 350 and turbo 350 trans, power steering and a tilt column out of a later model truck.I always liked the look of the short fleet trucks so I sold the stepside bed and purchased one from board member chevyrestoguy. got some work done this weekend shaved hood seam and started to shave door handles

Your Truck is looking good. But you have me confused with someone else. Im Tony (allaboutchevelles) and I havent sold any bedsides to anyone before. LOL. Im glad to hear you must have found a nice fleetside bed for your truck though. Keep up the good work!!

I ordered them from scotts hot rods the curve of the plates is perfect did a little grinding around the edges to get an exact fit. Also got the patch for the fuel filler in the cab.

Re: better late than never 62 short fleet
got down to the shop last night for a couple of hours finished welding in door handle patch.Had the normal door smiley looks like the po used brass to fill the dent so I had an extra door laying around so decided to cut out the bad spot and will replace with a patch from the donor door.

I got the lumber for my bed this weekend in the pic you can see the walnut boards underneath and some ambrosia maple boards I also got on top.I used the extra walnut boards I had to make a top for an antique cart im gonna use as a coffee table still need to apply the poly.Removed my passenger side door to finish the body work on it and decided to snap some pics of my interior.
