69 c10 worth fixing?

I have this 69 c10 nothing special option wise, was originally a 6 cylinder truck but is now set up for a v8. it is missing the motor and i have a good running 327 for it. It will need brakes, radiator, lines, hoses, tires, seat, probably wiring ect. And that does not include the body work, needs floors, cab corners, rockers, wheel arches, front fenders each need patches ect. I no i could make this truck my own and have fun doing it but im not sure if i should even do it right now. I dont have much time and am looking for a driver. I found this on ebay and am seriously considering it or something like it. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...MakeTrack=true
What do you guys think. I know il have that much in my 69 very easily to make it look like the ebay one and it wont be original in the end anyway. Heres the 69.

thats a 68 unless someone changed the front end. the ebay truck looks like a really nice driver id say go that direction if you have the money and maybe fix the other one alittle at a time

It sounds like you value originality so I'd go with another truck. Also that 69 you have sounds like it needs alot and you have doubts already so trust your instinct. I'd verify that ebay truck is original before spending $$$ on it. Check SPID vs frame vins, title, engine code, etc. ifyou care about authenticity.

I would say its most deff. a 68, since that teal color (factory) is on both front and rear. Just saying. And yes always worth the time and money to fix now since Chevy did that commercial! lmao

Re: 69 c10 worth fixing?

Its weird that that teal is on the cab and that fender because the original red is under it and the cab was black. It has a 67 front fender on the other side and the title shows its a 69. I have most of the parts to build it but i just moved this spring and have no yard or driveway and share a 2 stall garage with 2 other people. I can only work on my stuff about 1 day a month which is why im starting to think about going a different route on something thats drive able and patiina. I like the idea of building the truck and knowing every detail about it like with my car but just dont know if it is possible anymore. I also figure between the motor i have and the truck i have 3000 and that doesnt include anything being hooked up or any of the work described above being done. I dont want a ton of money in a truck that isnt worth even close to what i have in it.

Re: 69 c10 worth fixing?

When looking for a project, I try and find the absolutely best example I can afford. It will pay off in the long run.
Another good rule of thumb is to break a potential project down into three parts. Mechanical, body and interior. If 2 out of 3 are not in good shape, I pass.
