2001 paint coming off dash.....

Excuse me if there is already a thread on this but I couldnt find it on a search.....anyway 2001 2500HD 8.1, awesome truck btw, a used truck I just bought....the black paint is coming off the grey dash and it looks AWFUL.....I tried to take it all off with laquer thinners and just have a grey dash which I would be ok with, it works but is VERY slow, too slow....wonder if there is any tricks out there or I was thinking of putting a dashmat on it....I have to do something.

I'm not sure if I follow right. You have black coming off a gray dash? Mine is gray, peeling off to reveal black. Are you sure yours wasn't painted black at some point?

No, I just told my girlfriend to keep her shoes off the dash and it stopped peeling, lol. I'm not really sure there is much you can do, besides painting it. But the paint will peel off even faster than the rest of the dash would have, so it's kind of lose/lose.

These dashes are notorious for this. Does anybody know of a good paint to use??
