Looking to buy a 2004-07 What do I need to look for?

I've been looking for an ext cab truck. What should I look for as far as problems. I've noticed cab corners rust out and the brake lines are going. I just looked at a 2006 with 38,000 miles and it had the brake lines replaced from the front to back already. Thanks, Nate

I'm only looking at trucks with under 60,000 miles, 5.3 auto 4x4

I was gonna say rusty brake lines, but you knew that already. Other popular places for corrosion are the frame and the very bottom of the doors (the pinchweld where the outer door skin folds under). You should look under the truck at the inner rockers, too, I would think.

I was surprised when you said the truck that you were looking at already had the lines replaced... then I noticed where you're from. Pittsburgh. That makes sense now. Chicago isn't better, btw.

Check for pump rub issue, too. That's an issue with the transfer case. Chances are that it will need to be fixed.....ask seller if it's been done.

Can you explain the issue with pump rub, Not sure what your talking about. Where do I look, on the transfer case? Is it something visible? Thanks, Nate

The pump rub is for 2500's and 3500's. Fluid will drain out of a hole in the back of the T-case.
